    Healthy Lifestyle Specialist (Targeted Team) - Walsall

     

    Position:          Healthy Lifestyle Specialist (Targeted Team)

    Reports to:       Senior Healthy Lifestyle Specialist (Targeted Team)

    Location:          Walsall

    Salary:             Circa £17,000 pro rata (dependent upon experience)

    Job Type:         Health promotion and programme deliverer

    Start Date:        ASAP

    Hours:              Part time/ Full time (40 hours per week)

     

    Mytime Active was founded in 2004.  Originally running leisure services in London, we expanded into golf where we now run a number of courses, making us the second largest golf operator in the UK.  We also developed public health work, running contracts for Local Authorities as well as owning MEND, the world leading child weight management programme.  Our business has also expanded geographically and we now concentrate our work in Bromley, Central London, the Midlands and the South Coast.

    The Role

     

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual who is positive and passionate about making a difference to the health of the people of Walsall.

     

    The Targeted Team provide healthy lifestyle advice, ongoing support and signposting to people who live, work or have a GP in Walsall. The team help service users wanting to lose weight, improve their diet, increase their physical activity or stop smoking, as well as supporting and signposting service users who need support with alcohol or general wellbeing.

     

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Delivering one to one  initial appointments and regular reviews

    • Signposting service users to local services, supporting them to achieve their lifestyle goal

    • Maintaining contact with service users and supporting them along their journey

    • Delivering workshops that provide advice on physical activity, nutrition, wellbeing, smoking and alcohol.

    • Monitoring individuals activity and outcomes. 

     

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have a good working knowledge of current nutrition, physical activity, weight management, smoking cessation, alcohol and wellbeing guidelines

    • Have experience of delivering nutrition, physical activity and wellbeing sessions to groups

    • Have experience delivering one to one initial lifestyle appointments

    • Have experience of health promotion and community engagement

    • Have experience of working with health care professionals and community organisations

     

    This is a fixed term contract until April 2019 and is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

    Driving license and/or ability to travel is essential to the role.
