    Position:          Healthy Lifestyle Specialist (Families)

    Reports to:       Senior Healthy Lifestyle Specialist (Families)

    Location:          Walsall

    Salary:             Circa £17,000 pro rata (dependent upon experience)

    Job Type:         Health promotion and programme deliverer

    Mytime Active was founded in 2004.  Originally running leisure services in London, we expanded into golf where we now run a number of courses, making us the second largest golf operator in the UK.  We also developed public health work, running contracts for Local Authorities as well as owning MEND, the world leading child weight management programme. Our business has also expanded geographically and we now concentrate our work in Bromley, Central London, the Midlands and the South Coast.

    The Role

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual who is positive, energetic and passionate about making a difference to the health of our future generation.

    ‘Super Wiggles’ is a 6 week Tier 2 Weight Management programme, funded by Walsall council. The programme provides nutrition education and physical activity sessions for families with children between the ages of 2-7 who are above a healthy weight.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Delivering a range of theory and practical sessions, covering nutrition and physical activity for both adults and children.

    • Engaging with families with children aged 2-7 who are overweight, supporting them to access the programme.

    • Monitoring individual activity and outcomes. 

    • Liaising with health professionals and local services to promote ‘Super Wiggles’ as part of Walsall’s Integrated Lifestyle Service ‘One You Walsall’.

    The ideal candidate will:

    •           Have a good working knowledge of current nutrition, physical activity and weight management guidelines

    •           Have experience of delivering nutrition and physical activity sessions to groups

    •           Have experience of working with families

    •           Have experience of health promotion and community engagement

    •           Have experience of working with health care professionals and community organisations

    This is a fixed term contract until April 2019 and is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

    Driving license and/or ability to travel is essential to the role.
